Easton Democrats Announce Two Opportunities for Voters to Meet Candidates: Oct 17 Candidate Forum and D’Addario–Burke Online “Ask Me Anything”
Residents are Encouraged to Send Questions for Nick and Adrienne’s “Ask Me Anything” to info@Daddarioforeaston.com by Oct 8
(EASTON, CT) — Nanette DeWester, Chair of the Easton Democratic Town Committee, announced Easton voters will have two upcoming opportunities to connect directly with Democratic candidates.
On October 17 at 6 PM, the Easton DTC will again host a town hall style candidate forum at the Easton Public Library. The event takes place on the eve of early voting, which begins October 20 ahead of Election Day on November 4.
“We are excited to bring back the candidate forum which was well attended in 2023. Residents told us they valued the respectful, engaging, and informative format, so we were asked to hold it again this year,” said DeWester. “The structure gives voters more control over the questions and ensures candidates have more time to respond directly. At a time when public meetings too often discourage participation through incivility or misinformation, this forum offers a neutrally moderated, safe environment for discussion.”
DeWester continued, “In July the DTC initiated a conversation with the RTC in hopes of arranging a debate with candidates from both parties moderated by the Easton Courier. Unfortunately, the RTC’s first selectman candidate immediately dismissed the Easton Courier out of hand. Poor communication and internal division on the part of the Republicans followed and the negotiation never happened. Fortunately, we had planned to hold the Democratic Candidate Forum anyway and so voters will have an excellent way to meet our candidates again this year.”

In addition, First Selectman candidate Nick D’Addario (D) and Selectman candidate Adrienne Burke (U) are collecting questions for an online “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) video. Modeled on Reddit’s popular AMA format, this on-camera Q&A will allow residents to submit questions in advance and hear candidates’ perspectives on issues facing Easton.
“This is the first time our top-of-the-ticket candidates will connect with voters online through an AMA,” said DeWester. “It’s a great way for people to see how well Nick and Adrienne work together as a team. Their combined skills, experience, and leadership style give Easton a well-rounded and dedicated Board of Selectmen slate.”
“Both of these events give voters the chance to meet the candidates, ask questions directly, and make an informed decision before heading to the poll. If you miss either —or if the candidates miss you at your door—please reach out to our campaign team to connect with the Row A slate,” DeWester added.
